50 Years of Care, Character & Collaboration
|
|
Genuine care, genuine character and genuine collaboration. These are the tenets that shape our business today, and the tenets that shaped our business 50 years ago.
The right thing to do.
In 1966, Jack Wallick worked for a New Orleans-based contractor that became financially insolvent, leaving about ten unfinished projects in Ohio. In order to uphold those commitments, Jack formed Wallick Construction Co. and finished the work, because, to him, “it was the right thing to do.”
Shortly thereafter, Jack was joined by Sandy Goldston, and the two grew the company from being a general contractor to include development and property management. Over time, Wallick became one of the most respected and trusted affordable housing and senior living real estate firms in the nation.

We are proud and honored to report that Wallick Communities was named among the “Best Places to Work” in Central Ohio in 2015.
This is the fourth year in a row we have been honored through Columbus Business First’s Best Places to Work program. Companies were selected based on workplace satisfaction surveys.

Fast forward to today.
Today, Wallick Communities manages more than 180 communities across the Midwest, and still maintains Jack Wallick’s initial philosophy of treating people the way you would like to be treated.
Jack and Sandy have both since passed away, and Jack's children, Howard Wallick and Julie Wallick, now lead the company, along with CEO Tom Feusse. Tom is also celebrating a personal milestone in 2016, marking his 10th year with the company.
Reminiscent of the core values that started the company, Tom is proudest of the culture that he has cultivated during his tenure: an environment of respect, collaboration, opportunity, care and enjoyment. But what excites him the most is the future of Wallick Communities and the industry.
"To me, what's important is the next ten years," Tom said. "Our opportunity for impact is even more significant looking forward than it has been in the past."
Wallick Communities is planning a year-long celebration, including an event in May to celebrate our associates, and a reception in October to thank our business partners.
