Wallick Participates in Columbus Pride
The Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival and March celebrated 38 years of LGBTQ Pride this past weekend with the theme “The Power of Pride.” The city was filled with rainbows and cheerful people, including Wallick associates.
Along with friends and family, associates were welcomed to join Wallick in the festivities. Wallick’s DEI+B committee hosted a tent where associates took turns talking with people and handing out Pride bracelets and pins. They also organized t-shirts for everyone to wear and banners, signs, and flags to hold while marching. Our associates were among the 13,000 marchers who showed their Pride support up and down High Street on Saturday.
For Nick Sampsel, Wallick’s Financial Analyst, Saturday was a positive and encouraging experience.
“Pride was a blast! You couldn’t help but feel good seeing everyone cheer and wear their most colorful outfits,” Nick said. “With all the craziness in the world, it was a breath of fresh air to see so many people come together to celebrate ideas of peace, love, unity, and respect. Shoutout to Wallick for being involved in the parade, the organizers that made it happen, and all the wonderful people that made it out. It was truly a special day!”
Scot Henshaw, Business Office Manager at Oakleaf Toldeo, made the trip to Columbus to participate in Pride.
“It meant a lot to see so many supportive coworkers from different sectors come out to support Pride,” said Scot. “It made me very happy to hold up our banner and walk with a company that recognizes how much diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging mean to all our associates and those we serve. I look forward to seeing more of the work we are doing and the impact that it will have.”
